Close All Tabs

The Close All Tabs extension for Safari enables you to close all the open tab’s all at once except for the current active tab. Upon installing the extension you will have an extra button on your Safari browsers toolbar.

Installation

Installing the extension is very straight forward, go to the extensions gallery in Safari, in the Productivity category you will find the extension (when the extension is not shown it means it is still in the review process):

Settings

In your Safari preferences there is an Extensions tab, here you can find the settings for this extension.  In the left part of the screen locate the Close All Tabs extension. Here you will currently find the following settings:

Ask for confirmation before closing all tabs

When this option is checked you will be asked if you really want to close all the tabs. This prevents the closing of all the tabs by accident if you sometimes click on the button when you actually wanted to click on a different button.

Roadmap

Context menu options will be added so that you can create a white list of websites that you don’t want to have closed upon clicking the Close All Tabs button. This can be convenient if you, just like me, have a number of tabs open with websites you never close.

For example, i always have my GMail open and another page i am working on. All the other tabs can in most cases be closed all at once at some point, however i don’t want it to close my GMail and currently active tab.

Did you know that it is also possible to register as a user? this enables you to create comments without constantly specifying your name, e-mail and captcha code. Register
